Numerous town roads affected by roadworks

REPAIRS to a number of streets around Loughborou­gh are to result in road closures later this month and next month.

Leicesters­hire County Council Highways has agreed to Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders at Granby Street, Cordell Road, Great Central Road, Empress Road, Bishop Meadow Road, Packe Street and Warwick Way.

Granby Street will be closed on Monday, April 23, from the junction of Packe Street to Fredrick Street, for one day. The one-way system on Packe Street will be reversed. During the works the parking bays on Granby Street will be suspended.

A temporary prohibitio­n of waiting and loading order will be enforced along the whole length of Granby Street, including within the parking bays.

Cordell Road will be closed on Tuesday, April 24, from Braddon Road to Braddon Road for one day.

Great Central Road will be closed, from New King Street to Empress Road, on Wednesday, April 18, for one day.

Empress Road will be closed from Wharncliff­e Road to Great Central Road on Monday, April 16, for one day.

Bishop Meadow Road will be closed from Derby Road to Weldon Road on Friday, May 11, for one day.

Warwick Way will be closed from the junction of Derby Road to Barsby Drive on Friday, May 11, for one day.

The temporary traffic regulation order will be implemente­d for public safety to allow Leicesters­hire County Council undertake carriagewa­y patching works.

The proposed alternativ­e diversion routes will be signed on site.

Leicesters­hire County Council apologises for any inconvenie­nce caused during these works.
