Acer palmatum ‘Atropurpureum’ Known as the red Japanese maple, this magnificent tree proudly carries, intricate, deeply lobed, majestic, ruby-red leaves. Arbutus unedo ‘Atlantic’
This compact-growing, small evergreen tree has an interesting peeling bark and a free-flowering nature. From September, when most plants are falling into a deep sleep, ‘Atlantic’ triumphantly embellishes itself with interesting urn-shaped, white flowers along its stems, which contrast with its round, orange and red textured fruit. Cornus kousa var. chinensis
A magnificent flowering dogwood, this makes a sensational specimen tree. In June, the small green flowers emerge at leaf axils and are surrounded by dazzling white bracts, which look like enlarged petals. As autumn approaches, the flowers blush pink and are replaced by fascinating strawberry-like fruits, with a show-stopping autumnal display as its finale. Maximum height and spread 16ft (5m).
