To gauge opinion across the town, we asked readers on our Kentish Express Facebook page what they would like to see the site turned into.

■ What about turning it into a school for kids who need extra support, like ADHD or ASD, for example.

■ :I wish it had stayed as Liquid. I have some great memories and I’ve never stepped foot in Cameo.

■ A large pub, with different themes on each floor!

■ A theatre/ music venue or a place where artists/craftspeople can hire a space for a reasonable lease with an organic market and vegan cafe.

■ :A hairdresser, vape shop, kebab hut, nail bar, mobile phone repair shop all in one. This is something Ashford needs.

■ I’ve always thought the top tower would make a stunning art studio.

■ Unless it’s listed it will be knocked down I think as I have a feeling it is subsiding into the river.

■ Not flats, not a nightclub, maybe a comedy theatre or workshops, but please not another nightclub.

■ :A mahoosive three-floor laser tag fun zone.

■ :Ithink Porchlight should be able to make it into homeless shelter for young people.

■ Why do people keep saying turn it into a theatre or music venue? What about the Odeon in town which is more than capable of holding such things considering it was one.

■ How about a youth club or something for the kids so they have somewhere to go in the holidays and stuff instead of walking the streets.

■ :Itshould have stayed as Liquid rather then just let it sit empty for the past few years.
