Division 5

There was a dramatic runchase at Bottles Lane where Littlebourne held their nerve to beat Rodmersham by three wickets.

Lee Taylor looked to have given the home side a good platform, hitting 86 in Rodmersham’s total of 232-8 with Darren Nokes unbeaten on 41.

Early wickets fell in the Littlebourne reply, including captain Buzz Gould for a duck, but two men held the innings together.

Tom Richardson hit 65 and Sully Gould got to within three of a hundred but his 97 made the difference as Littlebourne reached 233-7 in the 45th over.

It was a similar story at Macknade, where Faversham chased down 198 to beat Offham by three wickets. Offham won the toss, chose to bat first and opener Tom Evans raced to 60 off 56 balls before Chris Parsons had him caught by Benedict Croft.

The visitors closed their 50 overs on 197-8 with

Croft (3-21) the pick of the Faversham bowlers.

It was a real team effort in reply as their top six all made useful contributions. But it was Samuel Fruin who proved to be the matchwinner, scoring six boundaries on his way to 49 not out from just 41 deliveries.

Daniel Haley hit the division’s highest score of the season so far to help Bexley 3rds win an entertaining clash at Hartley Country Club.

Haley made 114 in their total of 233 all out, including 15 fours and a six, while Sam Brady weighed in with 46. Richard Nicol (54) and Ryan Carter (53) put Hartley in a good position but once both had been removed, the home side came up short at 213 all out.

Welfare only had nine players available but still managed to beat Chislehurst & West Kent.

One of those, Joffy Towe, hit 86 in a decent total of 253-6 with Louis Peto picking up 4-37 for the visitors.

Despite half-centuries from Avigyan Das (52) and Brett Taylor (96), Chislehurst were all out for 233 in the 36th over.

Bromley Town are top of the league, albeit having played a game more than most other sides, following their fourwicket win at The Roebucks. Michael Armenakis only bowled five balls for the visitors but picked up 2-2 while Michael Robertson took 3-16 as The Roebucks were all out for 132. Lewis Dicker’s unbeaten 52 got Bromley Town across the line with almost 20 overs to spare as they eased to 133-6 and a third straight win.
