All are marked out of 10 with extra marks for each gymnast’s artistic and physical preparation.

The squad now prepare for the British Championships in Glasgow next month. The Fountain SAC fished their latest shore competition as a rover and the winner was Michael Warne, of Hythe, with 5.882kg of dogfish, whiting and codling, writes Alan Yates. Second was Cieron Bull, also of Hythe, with 5.592kg and third Mick Howard, of Folkestone, with 5.084kg. Fourth was Chris Causer with 4.720kg and fifth, competition secretary Ray Smith with 4.216kg. Freelance catch reports include some excellent returns from Hythe beach during and after the recent gales, with codling and bass showing among the whiting. Best of the catches reported came from Hythe Ranges to Cieron Bull who landed codling and school bass on black lugworm. The round of seasonal shore angling competitions is coming up, with Christmas prizes on offer in the many and various angling club events. You can win anything from a turkey to a box of biscuits and in most of the events, the biggest attraction is that all competitors win a prize. The only problem for many anglers is that the local clubs have all chosen the same day – Sunday, December 7 and most events are members only. The Fountain SAC have their sea angling event (members only) fishing at Princes Parade, Seabrook, on that day from 9am until 2pm. The same day, the Dover Sea Angling hold an open event fishing 9am until 3pm. Details from 01304 204722. The Deal 1919 Angling Club’s Annual Christmas Festival also on December 7. For more details, contact Pat Heath on 01304 361248. Other events include the Evegate Christmas event, again members only, which takes place on Sunday. The Folkestone SAA have their Christmas event on Saturday, December 13, with fishing scheduled from 10am until 3pm – again members only, although to qualify, you need to have fished a number of events during the year. With the pier closed, the event has been switched to Hythe. FSAA also have their two- day festival and that also has qualification restrictions so check you are eligible. It’s on November 29-30. Entry details from Lee Heaver 07983 401368. The Folkestone & Shepway freshwater anglers host their event, a members only competition on December 7 at Radnor Park. Entry is pre-book only via FSAC head bailiff, Steve Cummings 07427655363. Freshwater results include the latest Icebreakers winter league contest at Radnor Park which was won by John Williams jnr, of Cheriton, with 30lb 8oz including the pool winning biggest mirror carp of 8lb.
