This will give them a chance to thank her for arranging a grant with which to purchase a new boiler for the hall. MAP Contracts in Lower Road is also owed a big thank you for donating new toilets and hand basins, for which the WI is grateful, because this means that the refurbishment programme of the WI hall has begun in earnest. Keith Perkins is making a good job of painting the main hall and the team of volunteers are waiting in the wings to continue decorating other areas. New fire doors have been ordered for the hall and kitchen and, as soon as more funds become available, the upgrading of the kitchen, outside painting and additional storage space will be tackled. Future fundraising events are planned and will be published nearer the time. Mobile library: The KCC mobile library van is scheduled to stop at Hartridge Farm on Wednesday August 10 from 1.55pm. If you have any queries, please phone 03000 413131. Date for diary: Are you planning on taking part in the sponsored Ride and Stride on Saturday September 10? Sponsor forms and a list of open Staff at Leybourne’s RSPCA centre guarantee you’ll fall in love with this little chap. Raffy is a friendly dwarf hamster. He is very inquisitive and will need lots of enrichment and daily handling to socialise him and keep him mentally stimulated. He can live in a home with children, although parental supervision in a must. Raffy will need to build his confidence with handling as he can become a bit wriggly when held for a little while and sometimes gives a gentle nibble. He would need a home with a good sized cage or tank set up.

If you think you could offer Raffy a home call Leybourne Animal Centre on 0300 1230751.
