Could your next iphone have a crease-free fold in it? iphone

A patent filed in the United States suggests that Apple is exploring the possibility of an iphone that features a hinge mechanism that prevents the types of unsightly creases that rival manufacturers have been struggling to avoid. “Apple has a long history of assessing technology and only jumping into the market when it feels a particular technology is mature enough or that it can use it in a way that makes a meaningful difference to its products,” analyst Ben Wood told BBC News. “There is little doubt Apple has probably been assessing flexible displays for years behind closed door.”

New version of Maps heading Europe’s way this year

Apple Maps

Apple Maps users in the United States have been treated to a brand-new app, as Apple continues its battle with Google to be the number one personal mapping service. The app has been redesigned from the ground up to include new features like better road coverage and pedestrian data, more precise addresses and detailed land cover. “We set out to create the best and most private maps app on the planet that is reflective of how people explore the world today,” says Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services. “It is an effort we are deeply invested in and required that we rebuild the map from the ground up.” Eddie goes on to say that this new version of Maps will be rolled out across Europe later this year.

Apple fined over battery slowdown Apple news

Apple has been fined £21 million ( $27 million) by a French watchdog for slowing down older iphones and their batteries to protect their lifespan. Of course, Apple has already come clean about the practice, which it argues guards against sudden shutdowns and prolongs the life of its lithium-ion batteries. France’s competition and fraud watchdog DGCCRF said that Apple hadn’t warned users of such practices as its reason for the fine. Apple has since accepted the fine. To avoid any further controversies IOS is now much better at telling users when battery performance features are running on our device.

Apple announces record first quarter results

Apple has announced that Q1 2020 was an all-time record high for the company, posting quarterly revenue of $91.8 billion, an increase of 9 per cent from the year-ago quarter. International sales accounted for 61 per cent of the quarter’s revenue. “We are thrilled to report Apple’s highest quarterly revenue ever, fuelled by strong demand for our iphone 11 and iphone 11 Pro models, and all-time records for Services and Wearables,” says Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “During the holiday quarter our active installed base of devices grew in each of our geographic segments and has now reached over 1.5 billion.”

early reviews. The anthology series, created by Lee Eisenberg, Kumail Nanjiani, Emily V. Gordon and Alan Yang has a Rotten Tomatoes score rating of 100. “Little America celebrates stories that are universally human, emotional and inspiring – it represents exactly what we’re building at Apple TV+,” says Zack Van Amburg, Apple’s head of Worldwide Video. “Each episode of Little America spotlights a beautiful experience from a different part of the world, and we hope it resonates with people everywhere.”
