Hull’s bus lane cameras switched back on

-

Bus lane cameras in Hull will be switched back on this week after they were turned off in January.

I hate using public transport as they are often dirty and smelly and as a pensioner with a heart condition I don’t want to be carrying heavy shopping. I would prefer to use my car without the hassle of being stuck in traffic that is held up because of empty bus lanes. I hope the new council will put them back to peak times only or better still scrap them altogether.

What if there’s only one passenger on that big old bus? Is that saving the planet as people in Hull sit in traffic chaos watching that big empty bus fly by? When I see a councillor on a bike in the pouring rain, or even travelling to work and back on a bus, then I’ll follow suit.

Bus lanes work, they have got me to the point where I will just not drive anywhere near Hull unless I can absolutely not avoid it. Went down a bus lane two weeks ago by mistake when I was forced to drive into the city centre. I had no idea where I could and couldn’t drive anymore. Hull used to be so easy to get through, what a disgrace it is today!

Go back to what it was before. We’ve got more cyclists on the pavements and cars queuing in one lane causing so much pollution. It is absolutely ridiculous!

Paula Vincent

Get rid, full stop. They just cause more traffic congestion and pollution, plus robbing delivery drivers an income.

Paul Myers

At the very least, go back to part time bus lanes.

Peter LA

I don’t mind the bus lanes, but why not go back to what they were – one way in the morning for a few hours then the other way in the evening

Eileen Hartley

Bus lanes need to be back to one way peak times only. No justification for all day bus lanes.

?? ?? and definitely not on a Sunday?
