School locked down by two ‘intruders’

-

A NORTH Hull primary school was locked down after two men were seen acting suspiciously outside.

The incident at Kingswood Parks Primary School sparked panic amongst parents.

Humberside Police were called to the school, with the force deploying a helicopter to search for the “intruders” in the nearby area.

Parents received a text message from the school at 3.20pm on Friday, starting: “Humberside Police are at the school due to two individuals circling the perimeter of the school.

“If you would like to collect your child instead of them walking home from the school, please do so. Please be vigilant around the Kingswood area.”

It is also understood that the individuals were two men, who tried to gain access to the site before entering nearby woodland.

One parent told the Mail: “I became overwhelmed with fear and panic, from other parents I heard that two individuals had attempted to gain access to the school.

“The school acted impressively under such circumstances and ensured the safety of every pupil and must have thwarted any attempts of any intruders.”

She added: “As a parent you jump to the worst conclusions and your worst fears are realised. You don’t expect to have something like this so close to home.

“I am dreading taking my child back to school, but I do know Kingswood Parks worked impeccably well to keep the children safe and will continue to do so.

“However, this anxiety will remain until the police have the individuals in custody and their intentions known so appropriate action can be taken to keep our children safe.

“Someone somewhere might have these individuals on CCTV, someone must have a description or some information regarding this that could assist them in their search.”
