Blondie is set for Hull Bonus Arena concert

-

ROCK and roll royalty will be performing in Hull next year after a huge new gig at the city’s Bonus Arena was announced.

Debbie Harry and her iconic band Blondie will play the Bonus Arena next November as part of their first UK tour in four years.

Hull has been selected as one of just ten city’s to welcome the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers.

Blondie will be accompanied next November by alternative rockers Garbage - who themselves have sold more than 17 million albums worldwide.

Promoting the tour, Debbie Harry said: “Next year’s UK tour is more meaningful to me perhaps than the very first time Blondie played there in the mid 70s.

“The UK has always been a special place to us, and being able to come back to perform there after sitting out most of 2020 is very exciting.

“Blondie toured with Garbage during 2017 and we look forward to doing it again.”

Joining Blondie for this run and making this a double femalefronted band tour, is Garbage, led by quintessential rocker Shirley Manson, who was invited to induct Blondie into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006.

Classic hits like Heart Of Glass, Atomic, Tide Is High, Maria,

Sunday Girl, Rapture and Call Me will all be on the set list along with hits from their last studio album Pollinator.

Tickets for Blondie with special guests Garbage go on sale on Friday at 10am.

They will be available online via www.bonusarenahull.com or online at Ticketmaster.

Telephone sales are unavailable at present.
