OUR Yorkshire Farm’s Amanda Owen missed the highly anticipated first episode of the new series due to a power outage.

The Yorkshire Shepherdess took to Twitter to update fans – and revealed that her family didn’t get to watch the Channel 5 show when it aired, because of the blackout.

Amanda posted two pictures of herself sitting in the dark with three candles lighting up the room, for her 176,500 followers.

She captioned the post: “WE MISSED #OurYorkshireFarm!” and added several laughing emojis. No electricity @Northpowergrid,” she continued with an electricity and candle graphic.

“The irony of being on TV twice today @BBCBreakfast this morning & @channel5_tv #OurYorkshireFarm tonight but not actually being able to watch the tv #yorkshire #powercut #tv,” she added.

The posts didn’t stop there. Amanda also shared a short video of the family sitting in the dark around candles.

She pinned: “Hello darkness, my old friend.”

Fans quickly took to the comment section to reassure the star it was a good episode.

One viewer tweeted: “Oh Amanda. So sorry you missed your own family’s first episode. It was a joy to see you all back in my lounge on tv. Your incredibly talented children are growing fast. Pleased your electrics came back on xx Jan.”

“It was a good episode, it’s good to catch up and see how you’re all doing in the farm, glad the missing 16 came back,” wrote one user.

Another added: “Wonderful programme. Glued to it from start to finish. So glad you found all your lost sheep. You, Clive & all your children are amazing. Roll on next week.”

Northern Powergrid electricity apologised for the issue and commented under the star’s post.

“@AmandaOwen8 Apologies for the delay in responding to you. Can you please DM your full address and postcode. I will look into this for you. Kind Regards, Lisa.”
