Corberan targets 50 points for Town

HUDDERSFIELD Town can take a huge step towards Championship safety with victory over Blackburn at Ewood Park tomorrow.

Here is everything manager Carlos Corberan said in his pre-match press conference...

YES, we hope they will play. They will both train and if they do well and it goes in the right direction then both should be available.

It’s important for the team to have the maximum number of players available. Especially as they both play as full-backs.

These two are very important for us.

IN the second half versus Barnsley, he had less impact with his actions because he’s not played for a long, long time.

But with regards the injury, he was working a lot from the physical point of view. I don’t think he should have any type of problem with his recovery.

The faster he adapts to this fast type of competition, the better. We need to see how he reacts to playing the last game.

WE need to see how his knee reacts. On Thursday he did his recovery. On Friday he will do training but I think he’s one of the options to have for the squad.

And if he’s fine, he could even be a starting player too.

We know he was an important player for us at the beginning of the year. He played many minutes and his contribution was necessary to get points.

But like any long-term injury, you need a bit of time to adapt again. He didn’t play any B team minutes, we chose to put him directly in against Barnsley and so if his body reacts well, he’ll be considered again. character I think he could be close to the team then.

Isaac Mbenza didn’t train on Thursday. On Wednesday he worked with medical staff, so I don’t think he will be available for Blackburn.

With Alex Vallejo, after he saw the specialist we received confirmation that he can return to normal training two days before Coventry.

So he’ll be available then, if everything goes well. He’s doing part of the training now but he still cannot have any type of head contact with the ball. So the idea is he returns to training two full days before Coventry.

THEY’RE a team that wants to play. They have many attacking players.

They want the ball and are a dynamic team. They are aggressive in defence and have a good squad.

We need to be ready to show our strengths, adapting to the style they will bring. They can play short, or players like Sam Gallagher who they can play long to.

It’s going to be two teams with a similar identity and style.

THE most important thing for us is to add three points against Blackburn.

We know Blackburn will be difficult. We’re on 47 points and we know this isn’t going to be enough to achieve our target.

We need to target 50 points but need to come with all our determination. That’s what our focus is on. Fifty points is what we can reach this weekend. Will it be enough? I don’t know, but we must target it.
