‘Perfect trick or treat weather’

Trick or treaters might want to choose a Halloween costume with a few layers to it as Huddersfield braces itself for more cold weather in the week ahead.
After a weekend that saw the first snowfall of the season, temperatures are not expected to rise far above the low single figures during the coming days.
Today will see clearer skies – with some sun peeking out around midday – but cloud and patchy drizzle will cover Huddersfield tomorrow and Wednesday.
According to The Weather Channel, temperatures on Halloween - Wednes- day October 31 - will be around 6°C and there is around a 50 per cent chance of rain. Weatherman Paul Stevens reckoned the little bit of rain we are likely to get shouldn’t be enough to dampen the spirits of those out trick or treating though.
He said: “Temperatures will be more settled after the weekend but we will get some wind and rain at the start of the week.
“Looking towards Halloween, it’s going to be a settled but chilly evening.
“There could be a little bit of drizzle but nothing too serious.
“Perfect weather for trick or treating.”
The rest of the week will see temperatures start to steadily rise again, The Weather Channel predicts.
By Friday it should be about 12°C in Huddersfield and overcast, with a slight chance of rain.
So there will still be a long way to go to reach the unusually warm October conditions we experienced prior to this weekend’s cold snap.
