Great Scott!

HUDDERSFIELD Town’s popular ticket office manager Sue Beaumont has scooped a prestigious accolade at this year’s Ticketing Business Awards.

The head of the club’s ticketing operation – there have been record sales of both season cards and matchday seats over the past 12 months – beat off competition from across to globe to win the ‘Unsung Hero’ award.

The category was for any individual or team that delivers consistently outstanding service and results for an entertainment ticketing enterprise, awarded to the quiet achiever(s), the ever-reliable ‘behind-the-scenes’ fixer(s) and the person(s) that ‘just gets on with the job’.

All those descriptions are certainly fitting for Sue and she rightly triumphed over five other nominees, spanning the length and breadth of the globe as well as the UK, including finalists from the US and Russia.

A delighted Sue picked up the award at a special Gala Awards evening at the Emirates Old Trafford cricket ground in Manchester.

Well done! FORMER Town academy product Cedwyn Scott has been impressing up in Scotland at Dundee FC,

Scott who learnt his trade as a striker in Town’s academy has recently signed a new contract at the club.

He left Town by mutual consent back in January, and has since gone on to play a vital role in his new club’s development side.

So far he has scored nine goals in nine games for the Scottish club’s Under 20s, winning all nine fixtures.

Scott has impressed so much he was given a squad number a few weeks ago when Dundee played Celtic and also acquired a place on the bench in front of 50,000 fans at Ibrox when the Dee played Rangers earlier this month.

On his journey from Canalside to Ibrox, Scott said: “It was a proud moment when I was given a squad number and travelled with the first team to Celtic. Then just a few days later I was on the bench at Ibrox and warming up in front of 50,000 Glasgow Rangers fans, it was an unreal experience. I’m having a brilliant time so far here.”
