Bark in the Park event ends after 10 fun years

-

Tim Brooke-Taylor, comic actor, Peter Sissons, newscaster, Alun Armstrong, actor, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Wayne Sleep, dancer, David Hasselhoff, actor and singer, Darren Day, actor, singer and television presenter, Jaap Stam, retired footballer, Konnie Huq, TV presenter, I AM sorry to say there will be no Bark In The Park dog fun day in Ravensknowle Park this year, nor will there be one any other year.

Unfortunately we have not been able to find a suitable arrangement for it to continue, following our announcement at last year’s event that the existing committee would not be in a position to continue.

All the equipment will be sold and then all monies will be donated to charity and Huddersfield Fun4Paws will be no more

It has been a pleasure and a privilege to organise and run such a great event for the last 10 years but time and deteriorating health among the committee have deemed it necessary to call time.

We would like to thank everybody and their dogs who have supported us, along with all the stall holders and sponsors, because without you all it would never have been the success it undoubtedly has been.

We hope we have been able to help get the message across about responsible dog ownership and show that it is possible to have more fun with your dog than you ever thought.

Please continue to clean up after your dog, keep it on a lead where necessary and train it not to be anti-social. Remember, not everybody is a dog lover but together we can keep working on it. “MODERN” Remains tell us that we must supplicate to the EU on pain of impoverishment and isolation.

Their language is religious; the EU is an angry god that must be propitiated; only by sacrifice will we be even admitted to the halls of politically correct humanity, still less prosperity.

You think this an exaggeration? Next time you read a Remain’s opinion, ask yourself: is he demanding that the UK should give up our independence to be granted the privilege of merely selling into the EU’s single market?

The inverse is for the EU to give up its sovereignty to us in exchange for free access to the UK market. But you won’t hear a Remain like Vince Cable discussing that.

The UK’s sales to the EU only amount to about a 10th of UK GDP, yet to hear the wails of anguish from the Remains it is as though 90% of our prosperity was in the EU.

Be careful, the Remains say, we must not upset the EU god lest we be cast into economic oblivion in perpetuity. We must bow to the EU, accept its admonishments and give it gold. Lots of gold.

The Remain worship of the EU is a religious cult, without rationality or equality. IT seems that the term “remoaning” has become something of an insult used freely by the Brexiteers of those who dare to hold different views on the wisdom of leaving the EU.

While I tend not to be too concerned by name calling I would prefer being called a “lamenter” as this is probably more accurate.

I lament the loss of cultural diversity that leaving the EU will bring about.

I lament the loss of compassion in certain areas of the UK.

I lament the loss of integrity in politicians who knowingly lied about the EU during the Referendum campaign.

I especially lament the loss of security that leaving will inevitably cost us.

I enjoyed Mr Kelly’s attempted humour in Wednesday’s Feedback. He suggests that a third referendum might follow my call for a re-run of the EU referendum. He seems to have forgotten the recent referendum was, in fact, the second.

We did vote to join 40 odd years ago.

So to use his sporting terminology the score is one-all. A decider is needed don’t you think?
