History group hands out cash to good causes
HINCKLEY District Past and Present (HDPP) has held its grand presentation night at The Greyhound pub.
The group celebrated its fifth birthday by donating just over £3,000 to local good causes that were nominated by its members.
The group is headed by husband and wife team of Paul and Sue Gardner and is assisted by their dedicated team of fundraisers.
They have all spent the last 12 months attending local events and at the same time selling their in-house dvds, holding raffles etc.
The group’s pictures feature in the middle of The Hinckley Times most weeks and have proved very popular with its readership.
Paul said “This is our biggest night of the year when the fruits of the membership and fundraisers come together.
“All monies raised from our activities throughout the year are divided up and donated to the local good causes that have been nominated by HDPP members.”
