Healthy fun for family
FAMILIES are being encouraged to get sweaty during family active week this February.
Leicestershire and Rutland Sport (LRS) will be working alongside Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council to host the fitness-inspired week from February 13 until February 19.
As part of the week, specially geared activities are on offer to help families get physically active together.
Run during half-term, #ActiveFamily week provides low-cost opportunities to keep youngsters entertained and healthy. It also provides the opportunity for families to try out new activities together.
There will be 22 sessions run across Hinckley and Bosworth, including mummy bootcamps, street dance for children, family swim and Didi Rugby.
Many of the sessions will be free to attend, while others cost from just £1. A spokesperson for the event said: “Active Family is a week-long campaign which is primarily aimed at helping parents and children to be physically active together.
“In addition to the physical benefits of ‘Active Family’, the week also provides the chance for parents and children to make new friends and relationships in a safe, healthy environment.”
