The new Just Tattoo Of Us presenters talk inking royalty with Samantha Wood
Atattoo design is generally something you give a fair amount of thought to, and not something you’d trust a mate to choose for you – especially a mate you might have beef with. However, Scotty T has allowed fellow Geordie Charlotte Crosby to choose him a surprise inking, one that she describes – with a bit of a naughty giggle – as “horrendous”. And, although he says he wouldn’t ever have chosen the design for himself, he’s taking the whole thing on the chin – although, not literally, because we imagine not even he would have found that funny.
The body art – which Scotty is refusing to show heat when we meet them as it’s still top secret – was done for the new series of Just Tattoo Of
the MTV show that sees couples
pick tattoos for each other before revealing the finished ink. The first two runs have seen some jaw-dropping pieces including a used tampon tattooed onto a best friend’s inner thigh, a bloke’s belly button used as the bumhole in an inking of a bent-over man, and a lifelike portrait of Donald Trump on a butt cheek. It’s watch-through-your-fingers TV, and it’s back. But, this time, Celebrity Big Brother 2016 winner and Char’s Geordie
Shore co-star Scotty T (or Scott Timlin to his mum) joins her in presenting duties. Having recently quit Geordie
Shore, the 30-year-old Newcastle lad has taken the spot of original presenter Stephen Bear after he left the show following the demise of his 11-month relationship with Charlotte. But, in true Geordielass style, the heartbreak is so last year – moving on professionally with Scotty on Just Tattoo Of Us, moving on in love (with
Love Island ’s Joshua Ritchie), and moving on in life with her latest fly-on-the-wall series The Charlotte Crosby Show. So, there’s a lot to talk about…
Charlotte – having done two series of Just Tattoo
Of Us, what is the worst tattoo reveal you’ve seen?
Charlotte: The worst one was probably the first-ever reveal we did. It was a “SLUT” tattoo that a girl had inked on her cousin’s bum cheek. The fact that it was the first one we’d done and it was so offensive – that was pretty shocking.
Do you have to have security in the studio in case it ends in a Jerry Springer-style bust up?
Scotty: Yeah. What’s his name, the security guard?
C: I don’t remember, as he only came in once. He made one appearance for a specific couple in the new series and then they didn’t even fall out, so he wasn’t needed! [Laughs.] We don’t normally have security and when we do, nothing happens!
If you could tattoo one celeb, who would it be and what would you give them?
S: I’d probably tattoo someone who does my head in, and just rinse them. C: I’ve got a good one. You go first. S: Someone off Geordie Shore. Probably Marty or Chloe. Or I’d tattoo a vagina on Nathan.
C: Really? Nathan would be a funny one. He was funny when he came on the first series of Just Tattoo Of Us. We haven’t had anyone from Geordie Shore come on this time, which is so crap. In series one, we had loads of them. It was so much fun, as they got so scared.
Which celeb would you ink then, Charlotte?
C: I’d choose William – Prince William. I’d do all of his kids’ portraits on his back. All three of them.
Have either of you got any tattoo regrets?
[Charlotte laughs and nods at Scotty.] S: Well, I didn’t really have a choice, did I? It’s a new tattoo I’ve had on the show, so I can’t show you. But I don’t regret it as it’s a big part of the show, obviously. Basically, I got stitched up by her. C: Oh, come on – it wasn’t just me. S: Well, it was her and everyone else on the show. They did this new thing where it was Charlotte and all of the tattoo artists pitching in together to design a tattoo for me, and I do a reveal on my own. It’s kind of nuts.
Is it that question mark one that you’ve got on your knee?
C: Noooo! Oh my God, if he’d have got that one from me, he’d be well happy! If anyone had got that done on Just Tattoo
Of Us, they’d be absolutely buzzing their tits off!
S: No, that’s a Geordie thing called “Knee Chance”, because it’s sort of, like, on my knee. Let’s just say the one Charlotte chose for me, I would not have chosen it for myself. Definitely not.
C: It’s horrendous. Come on, just a little peek? S: I can’t. You’ll have to watch the second episode of the new series to find out.
Charlotte, did you have your bear/cheetah that Stephen did covered up?
C: No. You can still see it. Look [turns around to show heat] – it’s still very much on my back. Stephen chose that for me in series one. I was initially really angry. Not about the tattoo – I was angry about the explanation behind it.
[Stephen chose half a bear face and half a cheetah, because Charlotte cheated on a past boyfriend with him.] But, you know what? It’s actually a really beautiful tattoo. I love animals, so you know, win-win.
would you get a matching tattoo with Josh?
C: Josh would never, ever, ever get a tattoo. He’s dead against them. S: He’s got no tattoos? C: No. And he would never get one.
is he frightened of the pain?
C: No. He just doesn’t like them. He doesn’t want them on his body. So no, we won’t be getting anything matching.
S: To be honest, I know where he’s coming from. I don’t like getting them where people can see them. I think too many people have got them now, and it’s more unique to not have them. Especially when you go on holiday, you look around and everyone has got them.
You had another Stephenrelated tattoo removed from your wrist, right?
S: You’ve had another one similar done, though, haven’t you?
C: I haven’t, man! It’s just the stamp on my wrist from my night out. It’s really rank. But, yes, this one [points to a faded squiggle on her wrist] is one I’m halfway through getting removed.
Does tattoo removal hurt?
C: Yeah. But only for about 15 or 20 seconds. But then you have to keep going back.
Did you want to remove it because it reminds you of him?
C: Mainly because it looks absolutely disgusting. I mean, what the heck is that? [Holds out her wrist towards heat.]
er, is it a fish?
C: Yeah. S: It’s the plainest fish ever. C: It’s the most rankest thing I ever saw.
Moving on… Scotty, are you dating?
S: No, I’ve been single since about December. But it’s different this time, because normally when I’ve broken up with a girl, I just go wild and get with anyone. But this time I’ve not. I mean, I’m meeting up with one or two people… [Smiles.] But nothing serious.
is there anyone heat could help set you up with?
S: Nah, I don’t need help in that department! To be honest with you, I’ve only just got back from Australia, so I haven’t had the time. I’ve got too much to do, I can’t be arsed with the stress.
Charlotte, given that you met your ex on the show, is Josh worried about you spending so much time with Scotty?
C: No. Not at all. It’s going so well with Josh. S: I like him as well! He’s not a tit. C: [Laughs.]
it took you a while to make things official with Josh – what’s next for you two?
C: Erm, well, we’ve only been together six months, so I think we’re just enjoying it and going on lots of holidays.
is it true that you’ve signed up for Dancing On ice?
C: No. I just said I wanted to do it. I mean, I wish it was true. S: I want to do something like The Island With Bear Grylls. I want to be in a hot country. I wish they’d do a Celebrity Shipwrecked.
C: That would be perfect for you.
would you be good at building fires and stabbing fishes?
S: Aye! C: He’d be so good.
what about Love island – are you excited about the new series?
[Both.] Yes! C: Can’t wait. It’s my favourite. I’ve got a fair idea who’s going on…
what do you make of Caroline Flack getting engaged after just three months?
C: I think it’s fine. You can’t put a time limit on love.
Any advice for her?
S: Yes. If she’s ever too busy with her new relationship, I’ll take her place as host on Love Island. I’d love to do that.
