Diane Kruger wowed the crowds at the Cannes Film Festival last week with an array of stunning gowns. But what really got everyone talking were the rumours that the actress is expecting her first child.
After wearing a succession of floaty frocks at Cannes – as well as a structured dress that kept her tummy well hidden at the previous week’s Met Gala – there has been a lot of speculation that the 41 year old may be pregnant. Onlookers even noticed Diane abstaining from alcohol at the film festival, choosing to drink water instead.
The German-born actress has been dating The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus, 49, since 2016. Before that, she was with
The Affair star Joshua Jackson for ten years – with rumours that the relationships may have crossed over. Joshua and Diane famously never married, with the actress once stating, “Without sounding pessimistic, I learned that I don’t believe in marriage. I believe in a commitment that you make in your heart. There’s no paper that will make you stay.”
And while marriage never has been on the cards, Diane always stated that she would like a family, saying, “I definitely want to have kids.” In fact, it was rumoured that one of the reasons for Joshua and Diane’s split was that he did not feel the same way, with Diane calling the break-up “liberating”, and saying, “There are certain things I won’t accept any more. I think when you’re in a long-term relationship, you start making excuses, and you’re making a lot of compromises – which obviously you need to make to make things work – but I think there are certain things that I’ve learned I don’t want to accept any more.”
Diane recently put her New York City apartment up for sale after deciding to move in with Norman, who has an 18-year-old son, Mingus, from his five-year relationship with supermodel Helen Christensen. Norm and Diane were spotted house-hunting in the West Village and looked at a £8.7million, four-bedroom townhouse. Plenty of room for little ones…
