Lifelong learning eventis freeto attend
A free event about lifelong learning is being held in Hamilton on Friday, May 5, in a bid to get people thinking about how they can learn new skills.
South Lanarkshire Council’s Community Learning and Home School Partnership are behind the initiative.
And the University of the West of Scotland’s Hamilton campus will host the event that runs from 10am to 3pm.
Guests will have the chance to try out a range of sports, enjoy a pamper session or try their hand at practical skills like cake decorating or weaving.
Additionally, there will be a range of information stalls and community groups on hand to offer support to attendees.
New Lanarkshire College and South Lanarkshire College will also be present to offer advice on a range of courses.
There will also be the chance to get a basic health and fitness check.
Anne Donaldson, head of education at South Lanarkshire Council, said: “This event looks set to offer something for everyone. It will be an ideal opportunity for people of all ages and backgrounds to make initial enquiries about local further or higher education courses or to learn a new skill for fun or join a community group in their spare time.
“We fully support lifelong learning whether it be in a formal or informal way.”
