Volunteers appeal
The Clyde and Avon Valley Partnership are appealing for volunteers to sign up and help out a range of groups in 2017.
A number of opportunities are available through the CAVLP to those wanting to learn a new skill, keep fit or meet new people.
The partnership are hoping to recruit volunteers for Clydesdale Community Initiatives, which needs help with jobs such as repairing paths, planting trees and flowers, and building fences.
It is also hoping to find help for the Local Landscape Heroes project run by the CAVLP Heritage group.
Volunteers are also required to help explore the local archives at Hamilton Town House Library.
Sessions will take place on Thursdays from January 19 until the start of March.
There will also be an opportunity to join CAVLP Heritage on an archaeological dig some summer.
The Mauldslie Woods volunteers meet on the first Thursday of every month to help out with a long-term programme of birch thinning and removal of non-native conifers, and could be doing with extra hands.
