Foster clocks personal best time in Leeds
Stainland Lions’ Gavin Foster clocked a personal best time in the Run for All Leeds 10k, held last Sunday.
In a field of thousands, Foster crossed the line in a time of 34:45 to claim 34th place, followed by clubmates Eddie Martin, in 69th place with 36:18, Mark Frost (50:15) and Dave Jennings (1:08:28).
Elsewhere, 19 Lions tackled YVAA race four on the outskirts of Leeds.
Mags Beever was first female overall, Anne Johnson claimed first F55, Helen Armitage was second F55 and Aileen Baldwin finished first F70.

Naomi Edwards recorded a time of 48:40 in the five-mile Solstice Saunter, organised by the Airedale Dodgers as a fundraising event for Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice.
The Hardwolds 40 is actually 46 miles with 4,600 feet of ascent and Lioness Lindsay Upton finished in 76th place with a brilliant time of 10:55:13.
Intrepid James Penson took on the 50-mile Ultra Wales 50, with 2,898 metres of ascent, which comprises six checkpoints along its route, and he clocked 16:48:11.
There was a good turnout of Lions for Sunday’s Norman Cole Penistone 10k, an undulating race that is a counter in this year’s Club Championship.
Phil Moyles led the Stainland club’s charge, coming home in 42nd place with a time of 43:19.
There were age category places for David Farrar (2nd MV60), Steve Hallam (2nd MV65), Judith Greenwood (2nd FV75) and Virginia Lewin (3rd FV70).
