TOUGH TRIP FOR QUEENSBURY
CRICKET: Parish Cup holders Thornton have been drawn at home to Queensbury in the first round of this year’s competition.
A trip to the Premier Division side promises to be a tough one for Second Division side Queensbury.
The tie of the round will be at Booth where champions Illingworth St Mary’s visit the nine-times cup winners while the only other all top-flight clash is between Triangle and Shelf Northowram HT at Grassy Bottom.
The Crossley Shield holders, Booth, take on a challenging trip to fellow Premier Division team and newly promoted Bradshaw, while two other teams in the top division, Copley and Blackley, will go head to head at The Arches.
