second big fire in two months has hit the joinery works of James W Simpson and Son, South Lane, Elland. When Elland firemen reached the works flames 20 ft high were shooting through the roof. Damage is estimated at between £8,000 and £10,000. Experts from the Forensic Science Laboratory are inspecting the scene.
