DETERMINED Morton boss Dougie Imrie insists his side have nothing to fear from title chasing Raith Rovers as they travel to Fife tonight for a crunch clash in the race for the top four.

Ton are the form team in the league and unbeaten in 15 matches in total, but Raith are still sitting 14 points above them in second place.

Despite losing both fixtures against Ian Murray’s side this season Imrie says his side’s form means they will be full of confidence in Kirkcaldy.

The Cappielow men are looking to make it 16 games unbeaten and a win could take them eight points clear in fifth place, should other results go their way.

Imrie told the Tele: “We go into tonight full of confidence. I don’t see why we shouldn’t.

“To go this many games unbeaten in a league like the Championship is simply incredible. This is a tough league where everyone is capable of beating everyone.

“Back in November when the chips were down everyone was writing us off, they thought we were done.

“But I know what I’ve got here and the guys within the dressing room are showing everyone how good they are.”

Ton will be boosted by the return of two key figures for tonight’s game.

Imrie said: “Iain Wilson felt his calf after training on Friday morning and I didn’t want to risk him against Airdrie at the weekend, but he should be okay for tonight. “Robbie Muirhead called in sick on Saturday morning which wasn’t ideal but he too should be fine for tonight.

“It shows the strength in depth that we now have that we missed those two, who’ve been pivotal in our unbeaten run, but we managed to win against Airdrie.” Imrie says he’s been monitoring the condition of star striker George Oakley, who was forced off against Airdrie on Saturday.

The forward took a heavy knock to his midriff and will be assessed in the build-up to tonight’s game. He said: “George took a bang in the second half and it was a sore one - a knee in the back of the ribs. “It was a bit naughty but it’s a contact sport.

“If we’re going to dish it out then we need to take it when it comes our way.”
