Parkhead side would entertain selling the player.

Dembele netted 32 goals in 46 games this season following a £500k move from Fulham last summer.

The striker has attracted interest since the early stages of his Celtic career, with Borussia Dortmund, Sevilla, Chelsea, AC Milan and Olympic Marseille all keeping tabs on him this summer.

Chelsea noted their interest in Dembele in the January transfer window and could test Celtic’s resolve with a formal offer in the coming weeks.

The Parkhead club are also in talks with Manchester City over the future of Patrick Roberts, with Celtic willing to offer £5m for the winger who spent the last 18 months on loan with the champions.

City boss Pep Guardiola is looking to offload up to 12 players in the window, but the Etihad club are believed to be looking for closer to the £12m they spent on Roberts two years ago.

Meanwhile, the club’s pursuit of Republic of Ireland internationalist Jon- ny Hayes was still underway last night although Cardiff City renewed their interest in Hayes with a £1.2 bid to Aberdeen for the player.

Hayes featured for Martin O’Neill’s side in Dublin last night as talks were underway about his future.

The 29-year-old was given permission to speak to Celtic on Friday, however a glitch in the deal hinged on Ryan Christie.

The striker has spent the latter half on the season on loan at Pittodrie and was part of the deal to take Hayes to Celtic.

The player was watched by Birmingham boss Harry Redknapp as he scored against Celtic in the Scottish Cup final.

Cardiff also had bids for Hayes turned down in the January transfer window.
