Porthcawl Flower And Music Festival 2016: I was reading a book recently and in it, the author wrote ’ In England and Normandy, rocks are rocks and trees are trees: but in Wales and Brittany rocks can be moved and trees have hidden doors and both have tunnels opening up into vast caverns holding incalculable treasures and endless tales.’
Well, the Porthcawl Flower and Music Festival held in All Saint’s Church in Victoria Avenue on Saturday June 18 proved the point.
The Festival was a mix of Art, music and flower arrangements with all these elements became interwoven to tell the tale of Blodeuwedd from the Mabinogion.
Blodeuwedd who was the Welsh goddess of Spring and wife of Lleu Llaw Gyffes in Welsh Mythology.
The flower arrangements by the members of the Porthcawl Branch of the National Association

Canon Phillip Masson led the service and musical interludes were provided by Erica Beynon and Col Canto There was a buffet in the Grand Pavillion and here the music was provided by Wayne Warlow and his trio. Although it was an informal afternoon it was felt fitting to have a moment of silence in memory of Jo Cox MP.
