Chalmers goal jolts Shipbuilders to life after the interval

-

EAST Craigie remain the front-runners in the North Premier League after another impressive performance, this time against Arbroath Vics.

The Shipbuilders led through a Fraser Mcleod goal at half-time but it looked game on when Josh Chalmers fired in an equaliser early in the second half.

However, Craigie responded with another from McLeod while two more from Scott Brannan and Rory Faulkner completed a 4-1 win.

Violet were left disappointed when they left Davie Park pointless after a 4-3 win for the Blairgowrie.

It was a bit cruel on the Glenesk club, who deserved to take something from the game.

Sean Tucker score all three of the Pansies’ goals with Gary Axworthy doing likewise for the Berrypickers while their other goal was scored by James Simpson.

Bottom-of-the-table Forfar Albion put their first points on the board with a 4-2 win at home to fellow-strugglers Harp.

A Ross Fraser double and strikes from Robbie Gallagher and trialist striker Owen Wilson earned them an overdue victory.

Coupar Angus won 1-0 at Brechin Vics to post their second win of the campaign.

Sam King scored the only goal of the game 10 minutes before half-time which hoists the Foxhall Park outfit out of the bottom two.

NEWBURGH’S 6-3 win at West Calder combined with Stoneyburn being held to a draw by Kirkcaldy & Dysart enabled Scott Hudson’s side to top the South Premier Division.

Jamie Gay, Sam Kirkham, Scott Sutherland and debutante Harry Galloway saw ’Burgh going four up at the break. Galloway grabbed a fifth before the West Lothian replied with Sutherland then scoring the sixth.

IN the East of Scotland Conference A, Kinnoull’s perfect start to the season continued with an odd-goalin-three win over visitors St Andrews United.

Goals from Scott Mollison and Dale Smart gave the hosts a two-goal interval advantage and, although Dylan Honeyman pulled one back, Saints couldn’t fashion a leveller.
