Forfarshire go seeking a grand final flourish
THIS weekend sees the grand final with the winners of the Eastern and Western Premier Divisions coming together.
This year’s encounter takes place at Titwood between Uddingston and Forfarshire.
The Dundee side have had a great season, only losing one league game.
They have blown sides away with their attacking cricket.
Star of the season for them with the bat has been Scotland internationalist Michael Leask, who scored hundreds in the first and last games of the season.
However, he is not playing so in comes Graeme Garden who scored an unbeaten ton in his last outing for Forfarshire IIs.
Craig Wallace and Chris Greaves are the main men with the bat for Forfarshire and they will be hoping to score big runs.
Youngsters Rory Johnston and Callum Garden will also be looking to contribute towards a big winning total.
With the ball, the Dundee side will be hoping Scott Cameron, Bryce Allchin, Umair Mohammed and Brock Ditchmen keep taking wickets.
Bryan Clarke’s Uddingston side have also had a fantastic season with a record of over 90%.
Tomorrow they will be without main man Ross Lyons. However, they still have a lot of strength with a strong batting line-up led by Western Warriors opener Mo Awais.
Their bowling attack will be l ed by Gavin Main backed by Neil Alexander and Abdul Sabri.
The national Murgitroyd Twenty 20 finals day is on September 8 at Dumfries. Semis are Heriot’s against Dumfries and Forfarshire versus Clydesdale.
