Osteoporosis is a condition in which bones lose their strength and are more likely to break, usually following a minor bump or fall. It affects about three million people in the UK.

Mayrine Fraser, specialist nurse for the charity, said: “Osteoporosis is a growing problem in Scotland and there is increasing demand among people affected by the condition for local support and information and the chance to meet other people in a similar situation.

“The meeting gives people who are interested in knowing more an opportunity to hear about how to manage the condition and have their questions answered.”

The event offers a great opportunity to hear from experts in the field of osteoporosis, i ncluding talks from Karen Scrimgeour, osteoporosis specialist nurse and Sarah Reid, senior physiotherapist for NHS Tayside.

Attendees will also learn more about information and support available from the National Osteoporosis Society.
