Tommy ‘proud’ of his players

ST JOHNSTONE manager Tommy Wright was “proud” of his players despite losing 2-0 at home to Dundee.

Saints played with 10 men for 68 minutes after Richard Foster was given a straight red card for his challenge on Paul McGowan.

“I thought we were outstanding in the second half and I’m disappointed we didn’t get anything from the game,” said Tommy.

“However, we must start better. Also, we faced an uphill battle after the sending off.

“We created more than enough chances but it just wasn’t to be.

“We were better than Dundee in the second half and we had only 10 men.

“Stefan Scougall did well as did young Liam Gordon after he came on at half-time.

“Dundee were dangerous on the counter-attack and that’s how their second goal came.

“Also that’s twice we’ve played Dundee this season and twice decisions haven’t gone our way.”

Saints were without the suspended Liam Craig and the injured Aaron Comrie and Paul Paton.

Their next match is away to Albion Rovers i n the Scottish Cup fourth round on January 20.This game is all-ticket. They go on sale tomorrow from 9.30am.

Due to the small capacity at Cliftonhill and the limited number of tickets Saints have received, priority will be given to season ticket holders from tomorrow up to and including January 8.
