Skipper has no fears for Aaron

-

WITH Richard Foster being suspended, Aaron Comrie may get another chance to show what he can do at right-back for St Johnstone against Rangers at McDiarmid Park on Friday.

The youngster has deputised for Foster before and performed admirably, including in the draw away to Celtic earlier in the season when he was drafted in at full-back with Foster playing further forward.

The 20-year-old defender has spent time on loan at Montrose and Peterhead and that has stood him in good stead.

Saints skipper Steven Anderson believes Comrie, formerly on Celtic’s books, has the ability to do well if called upon.

He said: “Aaron came in and did well against Celtic and can do the same again against Rangers if called upon.

“It’s another chance for him on a big stage.”

Anderson feels St Johnstone will have to be at their best to take anything from the Rangers match.

He went on: “We’ve made a reasonable start to the league and, obviously, want that to continue.

“It wasn’t that long ago we beat Rangers 4-1 at McDiarmid Park.

“Everything went right for us t hat night and, hopefully, it will be the same on Friday night.”

As well as Foster, on-loan Michael O’Halloran is missing from the Saints line-up as he can’t play against his parent side.

However, Blair Alston has recovered from a knock and may be on the substitutes bench.

The draw for the SFA Youth Cup has paired Saints with Dundee United.

The tie is due to be played in Per th on or before October 29.

Meanwhile, St Johnstone U/20s lost 5-0 in their away game against Hibs.
