Along with other senior pros in the squad, ‘Dicker’ is full of advice for the youngster.

Robson added: “I learn from Paul. In training you’re with him every day, he’s really experienced. He’s been down to England and has brought his experience back here and he helps me out a little bit.

“They’re on your back but in a good way, giving constructive criticism. They look out for you.”

United are currently on their best run of form for some time — 12 games now unbeaten with 10 wins in there after the 1-0 success at Somerset Park on Saturday.

The performance wasn’t one to remember for the Tangerines but getting the three points was the main thing for Robson.

He added: “Ayr was a hard game, not our best game as a team or as individuals.
