Local pantos bring joy, oh yes they do!

-

WE travelled to St Andrews to see the pantomime Aladdin at the Byre Theatre.

The busy house was entertained to a stunning family pantomime from the ensemble.

The cast worked extremely well together and the jokes were enjoyed both by the small and the more mature kids.

The evil Abanazar got the boos as required, as widow Twanky got the laughs at almost everyone’s expense.

The effects were well-utilised and supported the production rather than over-shadowed it.

It would be difficult — and unfair — to separate out any performer for praise as they were all superb.

CONGRATULATIONS to the Carnoustie Theatre Club for yet another marvellous Christmas panto.

We went along to see Sleeping Beauty and it was great.

Plenty singing, dancing, laughter and jokes to keep all ages amused.

Special mention has to go to the dame, who got most of the best lines, and to the baddie, who was menacing enough to make my five-year-old granddaughter nervous, but not terrified.

It amazes me how much talent ordinary people — who are holding down jobs and leading normal lives — have.

And I’m glad they choose to share it with us at our local theatres.

Starstruck.
