DICK IS ‘DELIGHTED’ AT LICHTIES’ SPIRIT

-

ARBROATH manager Dick Campbell i s “absolutely delighted” at the spirit shown by his side in their 1-0 home win over Motherwell.

A l ate goal by former St Johnstone and Dundee player Steven Doris gave the Red Lichties a richlydeserved win against their Premiership opponents.

Dick said: “There were five players not playing who would normally be in my team.

“We had Robbie Mutch in goal in the first half and Marc McCallum i n t he second and neither had a save to make.

“And we finished the game with two 18-year-olds in attack.

“We had a lot of good performances and I thought Ricky Little and Colin Hamilton at the back were very good.

“And I am delighted that Steven Doris got the goal.

“However, I am not getting carried away.”

Ryan McCord and Bobby Linn have groin injuruies. Linn missed the Motherwell win and McCord took his knock during that game so both are doubtful for tomorrow’s home friendly against Turriff United.

Dick continued: “Some of those who didn’t play against Motherwell will face Turriff.”

Bryan Prunty didn’t face Motherwell and Dick added: “Bryan is looking class and can be a big player for us.”

Fifer Josh Thomson played at right-back against Motherwell and has been offered terms to sign for the Red Lichties.
