On a Rolly with win

-

East Kilbride Rolls-Royce continued a good run of form by picking up a hard-fought win over Strathaven Dynamo’s.

After progressing in the Scottish Cup last week with a win over Larkhall Thistle last weekend – and they kept the good run going.

A 3-2 win over Strathaven Dynamo at Hastie Park on Sunday has all but secured EKRR2001s a place in the LFDA “A” League this Season.

But the EK side made it hard for themselves by losing two second half goals to their counterparts nearly squandering a three goal lead.

Gavin Kerr opened the scoring for Rolly as he received a ball on the right from midfield.

He checked on to his left to slot the ball into the far corner.

Keigan Taylor made it six goals in six games after he beat the offside trap with his lightning pace to place it past the keeper to stretch the lead.

Gregor Neilson looked to have secured all three points as he blasted his penalty high into the net after a Strathaven defender slammed into him in the box resulting in the spot kick.

But a resilient Strathaven side pegged two goals back putting Rolly under immense pressure.

However, the visitors held on for a valuable win.

Rolly are in Scottish Cup action this weekend as they travel to Kippen to face Strathendricks.
