Author Diane’s all set to meet and greet fans

Popular writer excited to host book signing event

- Mark Pirie

A Strathaven-based author is set to sign copies of her latest book this weekend.

Diane Marshall will sign her latest effort ‘Jeanie’s Light’ at the Waterstones in the East Kilbride Shopping Centre,

Diane, who recently moved to Blackwood, covers love, hatred, murder and betrayal in this historical novel, which follows Isa McLeod as she pursues happiness throughout endless disappointments and tragedies.

She works with husband John to run a carpet shop in Strathaven as well as several other businesses.

And John is so impressed by her work he got the cover of debut novel Beyond the Light tattooed onto his arm. Diane, who also completed her first historical novel, The Curse of Baird Hall, has also been involved in stage shows, notably ‘The Attendants,’ which enjoyed a run in Glasgow.

“This is actually the third novel in a series,” explains Diane. “I wanted to create a period drama that was more intense than anything else on the market, something that broke new ground and wasn’t afraid to venture into areas many writers shy away from.

“I really do put the entire spectrum of human emotion on a pedestal, in a way that’s extremely intense and thought-provoking.

“It’s all about exploring just how much hardship one woman can take. When something happens that will cause her to fall to her knees and give up, or triumph, readers will be left reexamining areas of their own lives.”

Pick up a signed copy of the book from 2pm at the Plaza store.
