Partnership with Coca-Cola will see Casey in PJs

-

COCA- COLA has partnered with a Dunfermline music venue as part of a nationwide campaign.

The Music Venue Trust ( MVT) is working alongside the drinks brand to support the grassroots music community.

PJ Molloys will be the only location in Scotland to host one of a series of gigs to kick off the scheme.

These will be headlined by upand-coming East Midlands singersongwriter Casey Lowry.

The indie- pop artist will play 12 shows across the UK, starting in

Bath in September, and will visit Dunfermline on October 2.

He said: “If it wasn’t for grassroots music venues, I wouldn’t have a career in music. They provide a springboard for every emerging artist and keep the culture alive.

“Having Coca-Cola on board with MVT will have a huge impact on keeping these awesome indie venues alive and helping the next wave of music come through. We should celebrate this! It’s a huge deal and I feel honoured to be playing.”

Born and raised in Chesterfield before moving to London to pursue a career in music, failing and then moving into a van, Casey has moved on to winning over crowds with his Springsteen inspired songs about misfortunes in love and odes to wanderlust.

The intensity of his fan base took a turn in 2021 with his songs about ‘ silly people on the internet’ going viral and reaching over five million followers across his social platforms.

Calum Miller, of PJ Molloys, said the announcement was “very exciting” and promised “a great night in the venue”.

For a chance to win tickets to the event, visit any Co- op, buy a 500ml Coke Zero or Coke Zero Cherry and scan the QR code on the in- store display.

The promotion ends on August 22.
