Drink-drivers are banned from the roads

THE following motorists have all been banned from the roads by magistrate­s in Derbyshire for drink or drug-driving offences.

Barry O’Regan, 63, of Sitwell Street, Spondon, was handed a six-month community order, fined £153 and banned for four years for drink-driving in Orchard Court, Spondon, on June 28. He had 104 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of breath when the legal limit is 35.

Deborah Salt, 44, of Station Road, Rolleston, was fined £242 and banned for 16 months for drink-driving in Derby Road, Burton, on March 31. She had 56 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of breath.

Evgenia Giakali, 52, of Friday Lane, Breadsall Hilltop, was fined £200 and banned for 18 months for drink-driving in Nottingham Road, Spondon, on February 2. She had 70 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of breath.

Nicola Davies, 52, of Dale View, Stretton, Alfreton, was jailed for 12 weeks, suspended for a year, told to carry out 40 hours of unpaid work and banned for 30 months for drink-driving, driving without due care and attention and driving without insurance in Well Lane, Higham, on April 5. She had 122 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of breath.

Tanya Taylor, 29, of Greenacres Drive, South Normanton, was handed a 12-month community order, fined £980 and banned for a year for driving while over the legal limit for drugs in Dale Road, Matlock, on April 15 and in Firs Avenue, Alfreton on March 28.

Scott Johnson, 30, of Priestley Avenue, Stretton Alfreton, was fined £350 and banned for 40 months for drinkdrivi­ng in Alfreton Road, South Normanton, on July 31. He had 85 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of breath when the legal limit is 35.

Andrea Annable, 42, of Broadway, Swanwick, was jailed for 18 weeks, suspended for a year, handed a 13-week curfew and banned for five years for drink-driving in Birchwood Lane, Somercotes, on July 12. She had 119 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of breath.

Evgenia Giakali, 52, of Friday Lane, Breadsall Hilltop, was fined £200 and banned for 18 months for drink-driving in Nottingham Road, Spondon, on February 2. She had 70 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of breath when the legal limit is 35.

Jonathan Sykes, 43, of Melton Court, Sandiacre, was fined £140 and was ordered to pay £85 costs, a £34 victim surcharge and was disqualifi­ed from driving for 40 months for drink-driving and for driving without insurance or a valid licence in Longmoor Road, Long Eaton, on June 6.

A test saw him blow a reading of 54 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of breath when the legal limit is 35.

Diana Nalty, 52, of Foxdell Way, Chellaston, was jailed for 16 weeks, suspended for two years, banned for three years for two counts of drinkdrivi­ng in High Street, Chellaston, on August 7 and in Foxdell Way, Chellaston. Two tests saw her give readings of 133 and 111 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of breath.

Lee Thompson, 28, of Maidstone Drive, Alvaston, was fined £415 and banned for 16 months for drink-driving in Bembridge Drive, Alvaston, on December 9, 2019. He had 122 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of blood when the legal limit is 80.

Samuel Baxter, 28, of Fairway, Branston, Burton, was handed a 12-week community order, with curfew and banned for two years for drink-driving in Nottingham Road, Borrowash, on April 6. He had 219 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of blood.

Daniel Wagstaff, 43, of Black Eagle Court, Burton, was fined £500 and banned for two years for drink-driving in Dallow Street, Burton, on November 22, 2019. He had 178 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of blood.
