Aldi starts to roll out click-and-collect service at two of its Derbyshire stores

-

ALDI has launched a click-andcollect service at two of its stores in Derbyshire.

After extending a nationwide trial, the discount supermarket chain is now offering the service at its stores in Riber Drive, Chellaston, and High Street, Clay Cross, near Chesterfield.

Customers can now order their groceries online and then collect them, in pre-booked one-hour slots, from the two county supermarkets.

On arrival at click-and-collect points in the store car park, customers can have their shopping brought to their cars by staff contact-free, in line with social distancing rules amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

A spokeswoman for Aldi revealed the number of bookable slots which are available for customers at each store.

She said: “The feedback has been very positive so far, with customers valuing having more ways to access Aldi’s quality food at unbeatable prices.

“Availability varies by day, but there are around 40 bookable slots at the Chellaston store Monday to Saturday, and over 20 bookable slots on Sunday.

“At the Chesterfield store, there are over 30 bookable slots Monday to Saturday and 20 bookable slots on Sunday.”

Giles Hurley, chief executive officer of Aldi UK and Ireland, said: “Aldi’s quality products and unbeatable prices have never been so in demand.

“Extending this trial is about providing thousands more of our existing customers with another convenient way to shop with us, while also making Aldi accessible for many others who may not have shopped with us before.”
