Our questions to the home and its answers as it wrote them

-

1. How does it feel to have three ‘requires improvement’ ratings and be placed in special measures?

If you look at the detail of the report we have no restrictions to the registration or admissions, this signifies they have confidence in the service, we will be re-inspected within six months, which we are currently working towards the improvements.

2. Do you think the report was fair?

My comments are that the report was reflective of the day that the inspection took place. CQC do a balanced on the day visit.

3. What are you doing now to improve the home and get out of special measures?

The management team have been replaced, we now have a new nominated individual, manager and clinical lead within the service, staff recruitment and evaluation of competencies is being completed. We are progressing with the service improvement plan.

4. What improvements have been made already since the inspection?

We invite you to view the home and the improvements. Please contact myself if you wish to visit the home we would be more than happy to oblige.

5. How are you working with other partners to improve the service you offer?

We have never had any problems with any partnerships with external professionals, our relationship and partnership is very close, we work together.

6. What is your reaction to the service being found not to be safe? Does this come as a surprise to you?

The service is safe, the inspectors evaluated, if you read the report around one service user, of whom we are working closely with and the external professionals are assisting us.

7. What do you hope to have achieved by the time of the next inspection in six months?

We will always strive for continual improvement and look forwards to the re-inspection with the new team in place.

8. What will happen to the home and your current residents if you are prevented from operating?

There has been no conversation with CQC, nor any other professional body around the closure of the home. Therefore this is not for discussion.

9. Any comments that you would like to add as well about the report and the home itself would be appreciated.
