ENGLAND BEAT THE GERMANS IN PENALTY SHOOTOUT* *

WE’VE CONSULTED OUR PSYCHIC SEAGULL & HE PREDICTED THIS.. SO HERE’S NEXT TUESDAY’S RESULT A LITTLE BIT EARLY..

ENGLAND will beat Germany in a penalty shootout, says our psychic seagull. And we’re so confident of his skills we are printing next week’s P1 today.

GERMANY fluked a draw against Hungary last night to secure a last-16 tie against England – and there’s a VIP row brewing.

We’ll once again face our old enemy after they twice went behind against the plucky minnows.

An equaliser just six minutes from the end secured their slot in the knockout rounds.

But don’t get in a flap. We’ve already asked out psychic seagull Sid who he thinks will win at Wembley on Tuesday.

And the winged mystic – who has an impressive record at Euro 2020 – confidently picked fish and chips over sauerkraut.

He took a while to make his decision – suggesting it will go all the way to an England penalty shoot-out victory.

The night of drama came as the UK Government has been accused of double standards over plans to let VIPS jet in for the Euro 2020 final without quarantining.

Around 2,500 Uefa bigwigs are set to be in the UK for the Wembley semis and final without having to follow the rules.

But Brits are banned from flying to many holiday hotspots and only allowed to jet to a handful of countries without quarantining for 10 days on their return. Shadow Defence Secretary John Healey said it would be “one rule for important people and one rule for the rest” if they were let in.

Italy and Hungary had offered to stage the final games in packed stadiums if the UK had stuck to its 22,500-fan capacity allowed during England’s group matches.

But ministers announced 60,000 chanting fans would be allowed into Wembley for the last games.

Meanwhile, couples desperate to wed have spent months waiting to be allowed more than 30 guests who still cannot sing or dance.

Daily Star journalist Felicity Cross, 36, who is set to marry on August 6, said it was her third attempt to wed since the pandemic struck. She said: “How is it fair my wedding of close friends and family will be a sit down in face masks affair while seemingly anything goes if it’s under a sports banner?”

Made in Manchester festival organiser Robert Brierley said: “You can have 20,000 at Wembley, but an outdoor music festival with 1,500 people can’t go ahead. I’m disappointed.’’

A Uefa spokesman said it was working “closely” with the FA and English authorities “successfully to stage the semi-finals and final of Euro 2020 in Wembley”.
