ROVERS’ DAISY IS PUBBISH

Clumsy star gets a bar ban

CORRIE’S newest barmaid has been banned from pulling pints in the Rovers because the actress who plays her is too clumsy.

Charlotte Jordan, 26, who plays Daisy Midgeley, made such a mess when she tried to serve a beer that soap chiefs called time on her efforts.

She is now allowed to serve only bottled ale in scenes shot in the show’s pub.

Luckily Charlotte reckons her bungling bar work fits in perfectly with Daisy’s character.

The actress, who has also appeared in Casualty and the Netflix drama Free Rein, told Inside Soap magazine: “I’m a very clumsy human so I’ve always avoided bar or waitressing work or any job where I would have to carry things.

“That’s actually what happened the first time I had to pull a pint in the Rovers. So now I’m only allowed to serve bottled beer!”

Charlotte added: “I think Daisy would be quite a lazy employee though, so you’ll just see me half-heartedly wiping things with a tea towel because I think that’s all she would do.’’

The Surrey-born star, who launched her career as a teenager playing Serena in the Nickelodeon series Summer In Transylvania, joined the show during the

pandemic. Her character has been such a hit her contract has been extended until at least September.

And she could become one of the soap’s iconic bad girls.

Producer Ian Macleod has said: “Daisy might seem like sweetness and light at first, but she can be a maelstrom of minxy mischief when the mood takes her.

“She revels in devilment and can be very self-serving, but she’s fiercely loyal to those she cares about – although her loyalties can change in a heartbeat.’’
