A PUB landlord hunting for staff warned them in a job ad: “You’ll be working for an a***hole.’’
But Craig Harker was a “fair one” everyone employed “enjoys being here”.
He is looking for five staff to fill positions at three pubs ahead of their post-lockdown re-opening.
But he warned wannabes not to come with “chipped finger nails”, “scraggly hair” or if they added he and that by him looked like they had “just been on a session”.
Craig’s ad continued: “Come looking to impress me. If your clothes are creased to bits then I won’t be having your lazy a*** anywhere behind my bar. Look good feel good.” He is looking for a chef, bar person and front-of-house apprentice at The George Pub & Grill in Stockton, Co Durham.
He is also searching for a bartender for nearby O’harkers Irish Bar and a pot washer at The Buck Inn in Darlington.

Craig said the advert had been taken in the right spirit and he had filled two of the roles within 24 hours.
He added: “People appreciate the honesty. The phone hasn’t stopped ringing.”
