Hall call for Fash

- ■

JUSTIN FASHANU was yesterday inducted into the National Football Museum’s Hall of Fame.

The award was received on the late striker’s behalf by his niece Amal (inset).

Fashanu was the first English pro to come out as gay while still playing, back in 1990. He took his own life in 1998 and would have been 59 yesterday. Amal campaigns against homophobia in sport and is a cofounder of The Justin Fashanu Foundation.

She said: “It’s unfortunate that we are still discussing discrimination in football in 2020.” (right)

Red Bull Leipzig were so fast out of the blocks you wondered if their energy drink sponsor had given the players a few cans.

For a team making their first appearance in the knockout stages, the last thing they looked was intimidated.

Mourinho was taking charge of his 150th Champions League game, he has won it twice. His rival boss Nagelsmann, at 32, became the youngest manager to take charge of a knockout game. His Leipzig
