Bryony on Milan journey

- By JASON HEAVEY

BRYONY FROST, who has enjoyed a stellar week at the Cheltenham Festival, may not have finished winning yet.

The racing caravan moves on to the traditional post-Cheltenham feature – the Marston’s Midlands Grand National at Uttoxeter – and Frost has bagged a fancied ride on Milansbar (3.35).

The 12-year-old has been way off the pace this season but the return of the irrepressible Frost to the saddle has to be seen as a bonus.

Veteran

She was riding when Milansbar won his last race, the £43,000-to-thewinner Classic Chase at Warwick, and also enjoyed a great spin on trainer Neil King’s veteran when finishing fifth behind Tiger Roll, no less, in the Grand National last April.

Between those two efforts, Milansbar finished runner-up in this race last year when ridden by 7lb claiming amateur Jack Andrews.

Uttoxeter hosts one of the bets of the day in Captain Cattistock (2.25, treble) in the Brit Plant Direct Novices’ Handicap Chase.

He won convincingly at Exeter and has gone up just 3lb for the win.

An opening mark of 122 looks lenient for Dali Mali

(3.10, nap) as he tries handicap company for the first time at Newcastle.

Soft ground, with more rain forecast, will not be an issue because this grey gelding won his bumper and a maiden hurdle on the heavy.
