A BODY has been found by police searching for a mum who disappeared while debt collecting.

Tina Cantello, 49, went missing while she was on her rounds as a door-to-door loan collector on Friday.

The hunt was called off after a woman’s body was found on Saturday evening at a house in Basildon, Essex.

The discovery was made about two miles from where her family believe she was last seen.

A 38-year-old man from the area has been arrested on suspicion of murder and last night he remained in custody.

The body has yet to be formally identified, but Tina’s next of kin have been informed, police said.

The house has been cordoned off, with police on guard outside.

The mum, who was just 4ft 11in, was last seen when she left her home in the Laindon area to go to work at 5pm on Friday.

James Taylor, boyfriend to Tina’s daughter Aimee, said Tina was on her way to her last call and was due back at 7.30pm.

He said her phone was found in a road which was a 15-minute walk from where police were conducting a murder investigation.

A police spokesman said yesterday: “Essex Police were contacted on Friday following reports that Tina Cantello was missing from her Basildon home.

“Sadly, just before 6pm on Saturday, the body of a woman was found at a property in Langdon Hills.

“The search for Tina has now been suspended and next of kin have been informed.
