Terror hero is spared
THE “Lion of London Bridge” who fought off machete-wielding jihadis was spared jail after a racist rant.
Roy Larner, 48, was repeatedly stabbed in the terror attack and famously roared: “F*** you, I’m Millwall.”
But as Larner recovered a video emerged of him spitting at a black photographer.
A little over a month later he launched into a racist outburst at the office of MP Neil Coyle in Brixton, south London.
He said: “All Muslims are the same – scum,” and referred to Muslims as being “pig eating c***s”, Inner London Crown Court was told.
Christopher SurteesJones, defending, said Larner accepted “the words are disgusting and it is very, very wrong .”
The judge said: “Nobody should be subjected to the kind of racist abuse, also involving spitting, that this complainant was.”
Larner, of Brixton, admitted racially aggravated common assault and religiously aggravated harassment.
He was sentenced to eight weeks, suspended for 12 months, for spitting on the photographer and fined £50 for his anti-Islam abuse. LOSING a wallet is the main trigger of stress.
Leaving a bag on public transport, a missing pet, losing a bank card and breaking down in a car are also in the top 10.
