BULLET ON TARGET

- By SIMON BANKS

BRUISERS BULLET (10.11) can book his ticket for the Star Sports English Derby at Towcester tomorrow.

However, he faces tough opposition in the Monmore Puppy Derby winner Forest Con and the Irish raider Drive On Tipp.

Forest Con equalled the Hove 475 metre track record last week and Drive On Tipp has run in big finals over in Ireland but preference is given to Bruisers Bullet.

Surprised

He surprised many when beating the Ante Post Derby favourite Clares Rocket last week in a rapid 29.11.

That sort of time should be enough to see him win and send his Derby odds tumbling down from the current 33-1.

Graham Holland’s lightlyraced SONIC (9.56) came third in the Irish Derby final and should have enough class to land the previous stakes. He ® may have now run in 87 races and be over four years old but the veteran LAUGHING GRAVY (8.04) is still one of the fastest sprinters around.

The David Pruhs 2014 Romford Puppy Cup winner loves Nottingham, having won there 13 times and he can land the second heat of the sprint trophy there tonight.

Kevin Cobold’s CORRIN MALL (9.22) won well for us a fortnight ago and has scored again since.

He can complete a hat trick by winning the last from an ideal draw.

Eric Crowe’s SANTAS SCOLARI (9.12) contested 15 A1s at Yarmouth without success and was eventually dropped down two grades a fortnight ago.

He promptly hosed up, which has clearly restored his confidence.
