Capital gains in mind for Thomas

- NEIL GOULDING

BRENTFORD boss Thomas Frank is desperate for some London pride today.

Frank’s buzzing Bees have won nine of their last 13 matches to fly into third place in the table.

And the Dane wants to keep that momentum going when West meets South East in the capital this afternoon.

“We’ve got to do everything we can to get three points at The Den,” Frank said.

“The momentum is with us, we’ve been putting in good performances and picking up lots of wins.

“It’s on us to remain focused and to continue this run.”

With the transfer window just days from opening, Brenford are preparing for interest in star trio Said Benrahma, Bryan Mbeumo and Ollie Watkins.

But Frank would be surprised to see any of them exit Griffin Park.

He said: “I can’t understand why anyone would want to leave Brentford right now.

“We are in a good place, playing attractive football and they are all in a very good place in terms of their football.

“There is more to come from them as well, the front three are getting better and better. For me that’s frightening.”

Frank has no fresh injury concerns but illness has swept through the Millwall camp with Aiden O’Brien, Alex Pearce, Shane Ferguson and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson all under the weather.

“A lot of the players are just trying to get through the games, which isn’t ideal,” said Lions’ manager Gary Rowett.

“It’s a big part of the Championship, how you do over the festive period.

“But what we need is three or four players to come up with quality when games are tight.

“We’re progressing but January will come at a good time.”
